Welcome to the website of Egyptology Scotland.

Our society was founded in 2000 with the simple objective of promoting the study and understanding of Ancient Egypt.

The society's motto above is a quote from the ancient Egyptian wisdom text 'The Instruction of Ptahhotep'. It translates as 'Speaking to the future is good - it will listen.' Membership of the society is open to anyone who shares our interest in Ancient Egypt.

Our lecture programme aims to provide members with access to the latest developments in the field of Egyptology and our events include group visits, members' nights, hieroglyph workshops etc. Up to date information on all the society's events can be found on the events page of the website and are also published in our quarterly newsletter.
