Egyptology Scotland Hieroglyphs Workshop Weekend - June 2012

Egyptology Scotland is holding a Hieroglyph Workshop on the 23 and 24 June at Hillhead Library, Byres Road, Glasgow. The course is being run by Dr Angela McDonald, Glasgow University and former chair of the society. The workshop is suitable for both complete beginners and for those who want to brush up on their skills. For more information, please see the attached flyer

Fascinating Mummies - Family Events

The NMS is also running a number of family events linked to the Fascinating Mummies exhibition, including a 'Pyramid Challenge' event run by our Chair, Dave Lightbody. More information can be found at the following link:

Fascinating Mummies - Adult Events

Members may wish to note that the NMS is running a number of events at the Museum linked to the Fascinating Mummies exhibition. The final event 'Temples, Tombs and Fascinating Mummies' is a dayschool run by the NMS in partnership with the EES. A concession price of £15 is available to EES and Egyptology Scotland members for this event on Sat 26 May. More details can be found at the link below:

National Museum of Scotland - Exhibition 2012 - Fascinating Mummies

Members may be interested in the first major international exhibition that has been announced for the NMS following its redevelopment (it re-opens 29 July 2011). The exhibition 'Fascinating Mummies' from the National Museum of Antiquities in Leiden, will run from 11 February - 27 May 2012. The NMS is the only UK venue for this exhibition.
